In April 2004 we started work on the pool. Up till then it was a water basin for irrigation, we had filled it
with garden cuttings! Paco recommended to blow it all away and start afresh, we decided to ignore his
advice, due to the fact, that no building machine could enter this level of the garden – later on it would
turn out, that Paco was of course correct!!
The basin was cleaned and prepared to be a pool, all the pipes etc installed including a wave maker, to be
able to swim even in a small pool.
The building work was really tough , all the rubble had to be carried up bucket for bucket over seemingly
countless steps and the different materials and concrete back down!!
All around we created a lovely terrace with marvellous views over the valley. Two steps down a summer
shower was installed and underneath the centenary olive tree we made a Moorish style sitting corner,
complete with a BBQ. This is a lovely shady spot, where you can lie in the hammock and let life go by!
