La Rueda

Our holiday cottage La Rueda is only 4,5ks outside of Orgiva, Granada in the small hamlet of Los
Agustines, driving along a covered country lane. Situated on the southern foothills of the Sierra Nevada
and protected from the more extreme temperatures, we enjoy a microclimate. All around us you will see
Avocado- Mango- Papaya- and Chirimoya trees and even Bananas!

Our neighbours are all small farmers and from the pool terrace you can watch them working their fields
by hand. Sometimes you will hear Juan singing out loud as he is ploughing his field or in winter you will
see the whole extended families harvesting olives. Now and again a herd of sheep and goats will block the
little traffic there is:-)
If it is peace and quiet you are looking for , combined with idyllic Andalucian country life, then look no
further!

Directly outside the entrance to the rental you can park. The cottage is not very big, but has got all
modern comfort and is very cozy. It ́s made for two people, but sometimes we have young families with
one or even two children , who either sleep in their parents bed or in the cot we provide. We can also let
you have a baybed and a highchair.

The kitchen is fully furnished – fridge with freezer, microwave, toaster, waterboiler, coffeemachine,
italian espresso maker, pots and pans, all the dishes and cutlery etc..of course we provide bed linen and
towels, except for beach/pool towels. In winter we have centralheating and also a glass fronted wood
burner, for which we provide firewood at a small charge. There is Wifi throughout the whole property.
We also offer a washing machine and the use of a iron and ironing board.

From the small mediterranean balcony you enjoy wonderful views up and down the whole valley, down
to the fields and across to the mountain range of the Contraviesa, that divides us from the sea.
Just outside the cottage you have a small sitting corner with table, embedded in Blumbago, Bougainvillae,
Cañas and wine, the perfect setting to enjoy your breakfast or favorite drink!
A few steps lead down to the private, heatable pool, with an integrated wave maker. From the pool terrace
you enjoy breathtaking views, everything is surrounded by a sea of flowers and bushes, colours and
perfumes – the ideal spot to relax and enjoy!

At night, sit next to the pool with all the lights off and enjoy the starry sky, with its milky way and the
odd shooting star. Watch the fruit bats dive towards and drink from the pool! Now and again you will
hear an oul or a fox. We had a few guests, who were bird watchers and they all confirm, that we have a
big and interesting variety of birds around us.

A few more steps lead from the pool area down to a centenerary olive tree, under which you can sleep in a
hammock and let life go by! Here you also find the barbeque and a Moorish sitting corner.
One guest wrote in our visitors book: “If only paradise is half as beautiful!”
There is a choice of short and long walks and hikes directly from the cottage, or down into the fields,
along the river to Orgiva or up into the Alpujarras.

This holiday rental is ideal for a holiday for two in Orgiva or a hiking holiday in the Alpujarras or a
holiday with dog in Granada or even a long term rental in Andalucia.
