In winter 2017/2018 we had to refurbish the pool of our holiday home La Rueda in Orgiva. As
mentioned earlier on, the original pool was made from an existing irigation water deposit, against Paco,
our builders, recommendation. After some years we noticed, that Paco had been right! Some cracks
appeared and the pool started to loose water. That in itself was not too worrying, but after having built
more pools since, I realized, that an irigation deposit would not have been reinforced with iron and steel.
So there was the possibility of the pool slipping down the hill one day! Not a very comforting
imagination!!
So when we had finished the building work at El Garzopo we scraped together the last bit of energy and
asked Paco to rebuild our pool at La Rueda. This time the work was much easier, as we could access the
pool terrace from our neighbours ́ land.
Once Paco had taken the old pool down, he rebuilt a basic basin with normal bricks, we then asked “real”
pool people to come and reinforce everyhting with iron mats, before projecting it with concrete. Paco then
retiled everything and who does not know it, will not even relize, that we have a new pool!! Except, that
this time we had a pool heating installed, so if you would like to use the pool in the cooler months of the
year – ask us!
