We were just finishing the pool of our Holidayhome in Orgiva La Rueda, when we bought the first
property in Guajar Faragüit in April 2003, don ́t ask us why we did that! We really do not know and quite
a few of our friends and family kind of doubted our senses! In March 2004 we bought a joining chicken
pen and another joining ruine – a heap of rubble really:-)
Now we were the proud owners of a big property, that was totaly derelict, neglected and uninhabitable, it
had no water nor electricity nor sewage connection, but we were happy with ourselves! We started tidying
up the place without any help at first, took away all the rubbish and rubble and then took down the
remaining walls, stone by stone. It was impossible for a building machine to enter the house, therefore we
needed to carry everything outside bucket by bucket! During that time we swallowed lots of dust and we
admired our very patient neighbours, who had to bare lots of dust and noise during 3 years!!
The cave (La Cueva) used to be home to pigs, rabbits and chicken, all that needed to be cleaned as well
and we had the idea of putting a small pool into it, an idea that raised alarm and strange looks with our
builders later on!
At the beginning we were not sure of what to do with this property, but we did think of making a
holidayhome of it. Since it was too big now for only one house, two holidayrentals came into existence,
the Holidayhome in Andalucia La Estrella and the Holidayrental Costa tropical El Sol.
Both holidayrentals are ideal for a family holiday in Andalucia, a holiday with pet, a hiking holiday or for
a long term rental in Andalucia.
